Full book The Last Disciple Collection The Last Disciple The Last Sacrifice The Last Temple. This book was released on 2017-08-08 with total page 783 pages. Book excerpt: This collection bundles together all 3 of the thrilling Roman historical novels by Hank Hanegraaff and Sigmund Brouwer into one e-book for a great value! #1: The Last Disciple First-century Rome is a perilous city as Nero stalks the political circles and huddled groups of believers. To be safe, Christians must remain invisible. Gallus Sergius Vitas is the only man within Nero’s trusted circle willing to do what it takes to keep the empire together. He struggles to lessen Nero’s monstrosities against the people of Rome—especially the Christians. But as three Greek letters are scrawled as graffiti throughout the city, Nero’s anger grows. As the early church begins to experience the turbulence Christ prophesied as the beginning of the last days, an enemy seeks to find John’s letter, Revelation, and destroy it. Meanwhile the early Christians must decipher it and cling to the hope it provides as they face the greatest of all persecutions. #2: The Last Sacrifice Helius, Nero’s most trusted adviser, anticipates the death of his sworn enemy, the legendary warrior Gallus Sergius Vitas, scheduled to die a gruesome death in the arena. However, the badly beaten man who appears in the amphitheater is not who he seems. Rescued by a stranger and given a mysterious scroll, Vitas is told he must decipher this letter to find the answers he needs—a letter that Helius is also determined to decipher and to keep hidden from Nero. As Nero’s reign of terror grows, so does his circle of enemies. #3: The Last Temple Set in the turbulent years just before one of the most horrendous events in Jewish history, The Last Temple concludes the trilogy of The Last Disciple and The Last Sacrifice. Vitas is reunited with his wife and retires to Alexandria, determined to live a quiet, domestic life. But he can’t avoid the debts that he owes to the men who saved him, and he becomes a key figure in the plot to rid the empire of Nero. It sweeps him into the “year of four emperors,” when the Roman Empire is nearly destroyed, and takes him back to Jerusalem as Titus lays siege to the great city. Only then, as the prophecy of Jesus begins to unfold, does Vitas discover the true mission set before him and the astounding conspiracy behind it.

Read and Download Matthew Levering book Sacrifice and Community in PDF, EPub, Mobi, Kindle online. Full book Sacrifice and Community. This book was released on 2006-01-10 with total page 448 pages. Book excerpt: This book explores the character of the Eucharist as communion in and through sacrifice. It will stimulate discussion because of its controversial critique of the dominant paradigm for Eucharistic theology, its reclamation of St Thomas Aquinas’s theology of the Eucharist, and its response to Pope John Paul II’s Ecclesia de Eucharistia. Argues that the Eucharist cannot be separated from sacrifice, and rediscovers the biblical connections between sacrifice and communion. Timed to coincide with the Year of the Eucharist, proclaimed by Pope John Paul II. Reclaims the riches of St Thomas Aquinas’s theology of the Eucharist, which had recently been reduced to a metaphysical defence of transubstantiation.
Read and Download Crawford Gribben book Writing the Rapture in PDF, EPub, Mobi, Kindle online. Full book Writing the Rapture. This book was released on 2009-02-02 with total page 272 pages. Book excerpt: For the past twenty years, evangelical prophecy novels have been a powerful presence on American bestseller lists. Emerging from a growing conservative culture industry, the genre dramatizes events that many believers expect to occur at the end of the age - the rapture of the saved, the rise of the Antichrist, and the fearful tribulation faced by those who are "left behind." Seeking the forces that drove the unexpected success of the Left Behind novels, Crawford Gribben traces the gradual development of the prophecy fiction genre from its eclectic roots among early twentieth-century fundamentalists. The first rapture novels came onto the scene at the high water mark of Protestant America. From there, the genre would both witness the defeat of conservative Protestantism and participate in its eventual reconstruction and return, providing for the renaissance of the evangelical imagination that would culminate in the Left Behind novels. Yet, as Gribben shows, the rapture genre, while vividly expressing some prototypically American themes, also serves to greatly complicate the idea of American modernity-assaulting some of its most cherished tenets. Gribben concludes with a look at "post-Left Behind" rapture fiction, noting some works that were written specifically to counter the claims of the best-selling series. Along the way, he gives attention not just to literary fictions, but to rapture films and apocalyptic themes in Christian music. Writing the Rapture is an indispensable guide to this flourishing yet little understood body of literature.
Read and Download Lamar Waldron book Ultimate Sacrifice in PDF, EPub, Mobi, Kindle online. Full book Ultimate Sacrifice. This book was released on 2009-04-29 with total page 1162 pages. Book excerpt: Ultimate Sacrifice reveals, for the first time, John and Robert Kennedy's plan for a coup in Cuba on December 1, 1963 -- a plan that involved a U.S. military invasion. Unique, distinctly different, and far more advanced than any previously disclosed operation, this plan is corroborated by many declassified military and CIA documents that have never been quoted in any book before. It provides the missing piece of the puzzle regarding JFK's murder, and explains why Bobby Kennedy told close associates that the Mafia was behind his brother's assassination. The Mafia had managed to infiltrate the Kennedys' intended coup. Ultimate Sacrifice describes and documents an attempt they made to kill JFK in a motorcade several days prior to Dallas. This attempt had more than a dozen parallels to Dallas. Building on the work of the seven governmental committees that investigated aspects of JFK's assassination, the four million documents that were declassified in the 1990s, and exclusive interviews with many Kennedy insiders, the authors are able to tell the full story of these incidents. Ultimate Sacrifice Makes News with Kennedy's Cuba Coup Plan New History Reveals Previously Unknown CIA Code Name -- As Well As Linked Assassination Attempt

This book was released on 2019-08-12 with total page 207 pages. Book excerpt: In this composition, the origin of more than forty essential Christian beliefs are explained in order to provide answers for all Christians to such questions as "Where did God come from?" No longer will any Christian who has read this book need to avoid questions like "Who made sin?" "Is the devil real?" "Are heaven and hell real?" Did Jesus really live?" and "Should a Christian tithe?" The author's will is to help the Christian to know, to better understand, to teach, and to defend Christian beliefs. Beginning in the Old Testament book of Genesis, some essential Christian beliefs are presented on subjects, such as the family, anti-God sex, drug abuse, grace, sin, and marriage. From the New Testament, the writer presents the issues and Christian beliefs on Jesus Christ, disciples, origin of the church, origin of the Pope, Catholic, Protestant, and Baptist. In the Christian beliefs of the Baptist, the teaching of Jesus Christ as the norm, the founder, savior, and spiritual head are exalted. With supporting evidence from Jesus's own words, the last part of the book presents Jesus's teaching on hell, heaven, the steps of salvation, and tithing.

Read and Download Jae-Suk Lee book Mission as Integrated Witness in PDF, EPub, Mobi, Kindle online. Full book Mission as Integrated Witness. This book was released on 2021-05-25 with total page 264 pages. Book excerpt: This study aims to read Jesus’s foot washing narrative missionally (John 13:1–38). A missional reading is identical to a missional hermeneutics based on the literary-theological interpretation of the text. John uses sending language and formulae, and the frame of “as . . ., so . . .” throughout the whole Gospel, which clarifies Jesus’s and his disciples’ mission as integrated witness. In this literary context, the foot washing narrative signifies the integrated witness of Jesus and the disciples. The narrative consists of two parts: one, Jesus’s symbolic action for his death, and the other, for its interpretation for the disciple community. Jesus’s death, as his unique mission, results in purifying both his disciples and the world so that they might dwell in the holy union with the triune God. The disciples are sent into the world. Just as Jesus did, so must they proclaim Jesus and his teachings. Also, they should bear witness to him by living Jesus’s life-pattern of self-giving, sacrificial love, and humble service. Their verbal proclamation as evangelism and life-witness cannot be separated to testify to Jesus and their identity. Finally, today’s Christians, specifically Evangelicals, are invited to participate in the Johannine mission as the integrated witness of evangelism and life-witness.

Read and Download Edith Lee Chestnut book The Two Gospels in PDF, EPub, Mobi, Kindle online. Full book The Two Gospels. This book was released on 2023-10-24 with total page 528 pages. Book excerpt: The Bible is a simple story told in a complex way. For anyone who has been intimidated at the thought of reading the entire Bible from beginning to end, this book should make that story easier to understand. Ancient biblical storytelling and symbolism are explained in clear, simple, everyday language to make the meaning easier for anyone to comprehend. The entire Bible was written so that everyone can know God's plan and how it has changed through the ages in response to the actions of mankind. Every book in the Bible is written for everyone to increase their learning and understanding, but not every book is written to everyone, and we must learn how to divide God's Word to understand what is relevant for today. "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Tim. 2:15, emphasis added). This book will give you a basic understanding of the Bible and will teach you how to divide God's Word to make studying easier and less confusing. Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. (1 Cor. 15:1-4)
